The schauinsland-reisen market of lights in the extraordinary setting of the disused ironworks in the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park is one of the established arts and crafts markets in North Rhine-Westphalia and will once again open its doors on the first weekend of Advent from 29 November to 1 December 2024.

Artisans and artists whose products are made exclusively by themselves are invited to this event. (see also the admission criteria below). Resellers are not permitted. We will pay close attention to these criteria during the application process.

However, we also pay attention to the constructive suggestions and comments of our previous exhibitors in order to further improve the overall package of the Lichtermarkt.

Admission criteria

The event offers craftspeople and artists an attractive, unusual and high-quality environment in which to exhibit and sell their products. The products on offer and their decorative presentation should also be orientated towards this. The aim is to create an attractive, varied, comprehensive and balanced range of goods.

Artisans and artists who are involved in the design and production of consumer goods and applied art in the field of unique items or small series are eligible to apply.

The products offered must be self-made. Imported and commercial goods as well as industrially or mass-produced products are excluded.

Resellers are not permitted.

If more applications are received than a balanced overall picture of the event can cope with or places are available, the admission of applicants will be based exclusively on the purpose of the event and the attractiveness of the offer and appearance.

Exhibitor spaces

In the central area of the Landscape Park, with its high-contrast blast furnace backdrop and the radiance of its lighting, there are approx. 80 exhibitor spaces available in the outdoor area - on the Piazza Metallica and the casting hall forecourt - and approx. 40 exhibitor spaces in the indoor area - the blower hall complex. To ensure a stylish ambience, we will provide white pagoda tents measuring 3 x 3 m and 4 x 4 m including floor, basic lighting and power supply for the presentation of the goods on offer in the outdoor area. Tents or pavilions that you bring with you are not permitted for reasons of a balanced overall appearance.

For the indoor area, we provide sales stands that are designed with a table surface of 2.5 metres wide and 1 metre deep. In order to maintain a varied and comprehensive range of goods, as a rule only one sales stand per participant will be allocated. The table surfaces of the stands provided by us are uniformly decorated with floor-length, bordeaux-red molleton fabric. In addition, each stand is equipped with basic and presentation lighting. There is one socket per stand for lighting material that you bring in yourself. The indoor area will be reserved primarily for moisture-sensitive and special products.

The sockets in the outdoor and indoor areas can each be loaded with a maximum output power of 2 KW. Further power requirements must be discussed with us.

In addition, a limited amount of outdoor space is available in both the outdoor and indoor areas for participants with a product range that is not suitable for presentation in a tent or market stall, e.g. due to its size, weight, design or for safety reasons (open fire or light). The detailed requirements, e.g. with regard to size and type of use, can be discussed with us.

We kindly ask you to refrain from submitting applications in the area of snacks and drinks, as we are already sufficiently supplied in this area.

The following times are available to participants for setting up the range of goods and decorating the stands

Saturday, 30 November 2024: 13:00 - 22:00
Sunday, 01.12.2024: 11:00 - 19:00 hrs
Dismantling of goods and decorations

Application deadlines

Applications can be submitted using this form until 01.04.2024. After selecting the applicants, we will issue a written acceptance or rejection by 01.05.2024. Please refrain from applying for positions in the food and beverage sector, as we are already sufficiently supplied in this area.
